FRONT:  Work as for back until total length is 17½ (18½, 19, 19½, 20)”, ending with a WS row. 
Neck shaping:  Work across 31 (35, 38, 43, 46) sts, turn.  Working back, decrease 1 st at neck edge on next and every following row 3 times, then every following alternate row 3 (4, 4, 4, 4) times:
25 (28, 31, 36, 39) sts. Continue even until total length is same as back to shoulder shaping. On WS rows shape shoulder by binding off 8(9, 10, 12, 13) sts 2 times and 9(10, 11, 13, 13) sts 1 time.

Materials: Sweet Caroline: 10-- 50g balls
Gauge:  20sts, 24 rows = 4” using size 7 needles over stockinet stitch.  In Smock stitch, 6 sts, 5 rows =1”
Needles:  Size US 7-32” circular knitting needle,
double pointed needle, 2 stitch markers.

Cap Shaping
Bind off 3 (4, 4, 6, 10) sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st at each end of next and every RS row 7 (7, 9, 7, 8) times. 46 (50, 48, 58, 58) sts.
Dec 1 st at each end of every row 13 (15, 13, 17, 17) times.  20 (20, 22, 24, 24) sts.
Work 1 row even.  Bind off rem sts.

Front & Back (make the same):
Loosely cast on 72 (80, 88, 96) sts with larger needles.  Work in garter st, slipping the first st of every row until total length measures 10”, ending with a WS row.    Continue in garter st, increasing 1 st at beginning of every row as follows: (Slip 1, Kfb, knit to end of row) until there are 100 (108, 116, 124) sts.  Continue even if necessary until total length is 14”, ending with a WS row.   Place safety pins or removable markers at side edges to mark armholes.

BACK
Reattach yarn and work across the next 66 (74, 82, 90) stitches for the back as follows:
Row 1: K5, P to the last 5 sts, K5.
Row 2: Knit.
Repeat last two rows until armhole measures 7½ (8½, 9½, 9½)”.
Next row: K5, P13 (17, 21, 25), K30, P13 (17, 21, 25), K5.

Finishing
Work shoulder seams together using 3 needle bind off. Bind off center back at the same time. Sew buttons to correspond with buttonholes. Weave in all ends.
