Back: With smaller needles and CC, cast on 61 (65, 67, 71) sts. Work in k1, p1 ribbing for 2 rows. Change to MC and work in ribbing for 10 (10, 12, 12) more rows, ending with a WS row and increasing 1 st on last row: 62 (66, 68, 72) sts.
Change to larger needles and work in st st for 8 rows, ending with a WS row.
On next row: Begin chart by working as follows:
LEFT SIDE (BACK AND FRONT):
You are beginning at the center of the back. Ch 66 (66, 70, 74). Turn. Work a hdc in the third chain from the hook and in each of the following chains. Turn.
Row 1: WS (Wrong side) Ch 3 (counts as 1dc). Work a dc in next 35, (35,37, 39) ch. Place a marker to denote the beginning of the yoke; then hdc in last 28 (28, 30, 32) ch. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc). Hdc in each stitch to the end. Turn.
Decrease Round 5: *ssk; rep from * across. 14 sts.
Decrease Round 6: *ssk; rep from * across. 7 sts.
Cut yarn and draw through remaining sts. Fasten off. Weave in all ends.

BOTTOM OF THE SWEATER
Working on the other side of the chain that you used to begin the yoke, pick up and work a double crochet into each chain. Work 2 more rows of dc. Begin block and spaces as follow: *(4dc into each dc, ch2, sk 2 dc) twice, 4 dc into each dc, ch1, sk 2, dc. Repeat from * to end. Continue in pattern for 5” or desired length.
SLEEVES
Row 20: Last row: Work 1 DD. Pull yarn through last remaining stitch. Fasten off. Cut yarn.
For the next square, cast on 11 sts, then pick up and knit 10 sts along top right edge of previous square. Work basic mitered square pattern.
A. For the next square, pick up and knit 10 sts along left hand edge of first square, then cast on 11 sts. Work basic mitered square pattern.
B. After second square is complete, pick up and knit 10 sts along left hand edge of first square, then cast on 11 sts. Work basic mitered square pattern.
