(You will now be working back and forth in rows to elongate the backside.)
Row 1 (WS): P38, (44, 56) sts, w&t.
Row 2 (RS): K38, (44, 56) sts, w&t.
Row 3: P33, (38, 48) sts, w&t.
Row 4: K28, (32, 40) sts, w&t.
Row 5: P23, (26, 32) sts, w&t.
Row 6: K18, (20, 24) sts, w&t.
Row 7: P13, (14, 16) sts, w&t.
Row 8: K8 sts, w&t.
Next Row (WS): P across all wrapped sts, working wraps tog with their sts, then p1 more st.
Turn but do not wrap.
Next Row (RS): Sl1 st purlwise with yarn in back, k across all wrapped sts, working wraps tog with their sts, then k1 more st. Sl 42, (48, 60) sts from right hand needle back onto the left hand needle and cut yarn. (You will be at a gap.)

 

Next Row (RS): Reattach yarn. Pick up the strand between the 2 sts on your needle from back to front with your left hand needle. Ssk this strand tog with the first st on the left hand needle, then k41, (47, 59) sts (you will be at a gap in the work). Pick up the strand between the 2 sts on your needle as you did before and ssk this strand tog with the next st on the left hand needle, k to end of rnd.
Cont to work until front (the shorter side of the knitting) measures 4”, (4 ½, 5 ½) from CO edge.
Setup Rnd: K23, (26, 32) sts, pm, k42, (48, 60) sts, pm, k to end of rnd. These 2 markers will mark the placement of the crotch inc and will be known as the “crotch m”.
 

Divide for Legs
K21, (24, 30) sts, place the next 6 sts onto scrap yarn, k42, (48, 60) sts, place the next 6 sts onto scrap yarn, k21, (24, 30) sts. 42, (48, 60) sts rem for each leg. Place one leg sts onto scrap yarn and work just on one leg at a time.
